FFGene Thread finish tool
FFGene Thread finish tool is a large whip-finishing tool designed to form a whip-finish knot on the hook shank. Unlike a half-hitch tool, it guides the tying thread in the arrangement required for a multi-turn finish. The larger working span provides more room around bulkier flies and makes the tool more convenient to use with stronger, thicker threads.
The wire working frame combines a hooked thread guide with a supporting arm, while the handle helps the tier control the tool as each turn is formed. Its primary purpose is to secure the tying thread at the end of a fly, but it can also close an intermediate stage before further materials are added. The large format is useful when the knot must be placed away from the eye and farther along the shank, including nearer the bend on flies formed with Mylar tubing.
