Griffin Tying Tools Whip Finisher/Rotating
Griffin Tying Tools Whip Finisher/Rotating is a rotating, spring-style whip finisher designed to form a whip-finish knot at the end of a fly. Its distinguishing features are a flexible thread-holding arm and a handle built around a rotating copper sleeve. The wire working section turns relative to the grip as the wraps are laid, allowing the tier to maintain a fluid winding motion without repeatedly repositioning the tool in the fingers.
The stainless-steel working section supports the thread while the successive turns are formed. The spring design allows an additional wrap to be added and then releases the thread easily as the knot is tightened, helping avoid displacement of the newly placed finish. The tool is 4 inches long, approximately 10.2 cm. This is a whip finisher rather than a half-hitch tool: it creates the thread arrangement required for a multi-turn whip finish instead of placing individual half hitches.
