Akita AK 303 is a barbed salmon and steelhead fly hook for traditional patterns aimed at large salmonids. Its Salmon/Steelhead Fly T.U. profile provides a classic foundation for wet salmon flies.

Design and use

The hook combines a straight shank with an upturned loop eye and light wire. This layout creates an orderly tying space for the body, wing and hackle of a salmon fly while keeping the finished pattern visually refined. The forged construction and black finish suit traditional salmon patterns. The retaining barb should be taken into account when choosing the hook for a particular fishery or tying requirement.
