Akita AK 485 Fly Hooks (25)

Akita AK 485 is a barbed streamer hook with an extra-long shank. It is intended for classic long-bodied patterns in which the body occupies much of the hook, including streamers from the Ghost family.

Design and use

The extremely long straight shank provides ample room for an extended body, tail and materials that create a slim streamer profile. The straight eye makes starting and finishing a long construction straightforward. Heavy wire suits stronger streamer patterns, while the bronze finish works well with natural and traditional materials. Match the fly proportions to the long-shank format when planning the pattern.
