Akita AK 573 (25)

Akita AK 573 is a barbed fly hook for large dry flies, particularly hopper, Mayfly and stonefly patterns. It can also be used for light, unweighted nymphs. The fine wire keeps the finished fly light, making this series suitable when a bulky surface pattern must retain useful buoyancy.

Design and use

The straight, long shank provides room for a full body and extended wing or leg materials. A down-turned eye helps maintain the proportions of larger floating patterns during tying. Select it for spacious terrestrial and dry-fly dressings, or for slim, unweighted nymphs where a light hook construction is appropriate.
