Akita AK 719 is a barbed fly hook with a long, strongly curved shank. It suits nymphs and adult stoneflies, as well as glajcha patterns, cased caddis, and selected mylar baitfish and streamers, including upside-down versions. The extended profile supports dressings where the body and trailing materials need clear length.

Design and use

The pronounced curve helps form elongated, segmented stonefly and nymph bodies, while the straight eye provides a predictable starting point for the head. Select it for dry or subsurface patterns with a long profile, keeping the hook gap open as materials are added. Bronze works well with natural fly-tying colours.
