Bristol Hopper Claret
Bristol Hopper Claret is a lake hopper pattern for trout feeding on terrestrial insects. It is worth reaching for in calm water when the wind is blowing insects from the vegetation onto the surface, or when fish are patrolling the near-surface zone.
Retrieve the fly slowly, using short pulls with pauses between them. It is tied on a barbless hook.
