Dave's Hopper
Dave's Hopper is a dry fly imitation of a grasshopper, intended for presentation on the surface. Use it from summer into early autumn, when terrestrial insects are blown or fall into the water. Fish it on a dead drift beside grassy banks, beneath overhanging branches and through quieter runs.
A pattern for trout and grayling, as well as chub and dace. In strong winds or where the grass is high above the water, choose a larger size. Barbless hook.
