Dr Slick 2.25 Stainless Steel Duplex Rubber Jaw Hackle Plier is a compact, non-rotary pair of hackle pliers measuring 2.25 inches overall and made from stainless steel. Its distinguishing feature is the duplex rubber gripping interface in the rounded head. The rubber increases friction on the feather stem and helps limit movement while the hackle is being wound.

The oval spring loop serves as both the handle and the mechanism that maintains pressure at the jaws. Squeezing the sides opens the grip; releasing them allows the tool to hold the material. Because the head does not rotate, the entire plier is guided around the hook shank during each turn. This construction provides direct control of the feather during conventional hackle winding.
