Dr Slick 4 Bent Shaft Scissor
Dr Slick 4 Bent Shaft Scissor is the 4″ overall-length All Purpose fly-tying scissors. Its defining feature is the bend formed midway along the shaft. When the scissors are placed on a bench, the gold finger loops remain raised, making the tool easier to pick up without first sliding it across the work surface. The shaft is bent while the blades remain straight, so the scissors cut like a conventional straight model.
The blades are made from Japanese 410 stainless steel with a Rockwell hardness of 45. They have serrated cutting edges, pointed tips and an approximate length of 2.8 cm. The serrations help hold fibres as they are cut, reducing their tendency to slip between the blades. This medium-sized All Purpose frame is designed for cutting work on small, medium and large flies; the manufacturer specifies it for natural materials and most synthetic tying materials.
