Dr Slick 4 Micro Tip All Purpose Scissor is a 4-inch overall-length fly-tying scissor designed for controlled cutting of fine materials. The SAP4GMT model combines straight blades with a serrated cutting edge, slender MicroTip points and gold finger loops. Its finely formed tips provide access to confined areas and allow short cuts close to the hook shank, particularly when working on small or sparsely dressed flies.
The blades are made from Japanese 410 stainless steel with a Rockwell hardness of 45. The serrated edge helps reduce the tendency of fine fibres to slide during a cut, giving the tier greater control over the material. The straight blade form is suited to routine finishing work such as trimming feathers, hair and tying thread. These scissors are intended primarily for natural materials and fine synthetics.
