Dr Slick 5 Synthetics Scissor
Dr Slick 5 Synthetics Scissor is a fly-tying scissor designed for cutting heavy synthetic materials and coarser natural materials. It measures 5 inches (12.7 cm) overall and combines straight, heavy blades with pronounced, large serrations. This construction helps reduce material movement during the cut and is intended for substances that can be demanding on fine scissors used for close detail work.
The blades are made from Japanese 410 stainless steel with a hardness of 45 HRC. The model has black finger loops and is designed to handle materials such as Glo Bug yarn, foam, leather, plastic, bead chain, lead, wire and Mylar. Its role at the tying bench is robust preparation and shaping rather than the finest trimming immediately beside the fly head.
