Dr Slick Black 5 Clamp
Dr Slick Black 5 Clamp is a straight fishing clamp for accurate streamside work. At 5 inches (12.7 cm) long, it provides a practical balance of reach and control when removing hooks from fish, flattening barbs or closing split shot. The black finish reduces glare, while the straight jaws make it easy to approach and grip hooks and small items of tackle.
The jaw faces are half smooth and half striated. The smooth section is useful for pressing down a hook barb, whilst the textured section provides a more secure hold when handling a hook. A locking mechanism keeps the jaws closed without continuous pressure on the finger loops. The pin fitted within the shank can be used to clear blocked hook eyes and help open small split shot.
The clamp is made from Japanese 410 stainless steel with a hardness of 42 HRC. After use in salt water, rinse it thoroughly in fresh water, dry it and apply a small amount of oil to the joint. Keeping the jaws free from grit and residue will also help the locking action operate smoothly.
