Dr Slick Curved 4 inch Black Clamp
Dr Slick Curved 4 inch Black Clamp is a compact fishing forceps designed for precise work at the waterside. At 4 inches long, it is well suited to removing hooks from fish, flattening barbs and closing split shot. The curved jaws approach the hook from a useful angle, helping the angler work accurately where access around the fly is restricted.
The clamp is made from Japanese 410 stainless steel hardened to 42 HRC. Its jaws are set at a 30° angle and combine smooth and striated gripping surfaces. The smooth section is useful when crushing a barb without unnecessarily marking the hook, while the textured section provides a firmer hold during hook removal. Finger loops and a locking ratchet allow the selected grip to be maintained without continuous pressure.
The black finish adds a further protective layer and produces less glare than a bright polished surface. After use, particularly in salt water, rinse the clamp in fresh water, dry it thoroughly and occasionally apply a small amount of oil to the joint. Its short format is particularly practical for controlled work with smaller flies and hooks.
