EP Turbo Popper Component
EP Turbo Popper Component by Enrico Puglisi is a ready foam component for tying a popper. Select it to match the hook size specified for the exact variant: Green and Olive 2 mm versions are matched to a #2/0 hook, while the Red 3 mm version is matched to a #4/0 hook. The thickness affects the amount of foam and the profile of the finished component, but the way a complete fly behaves on the water also depends on the hook and other dressing materials.
Construction and use
Check the component against the hook shank, place it in the intended orientation and secure it with controlled, broad thread wraps. This distributes pressure and helps prevent the thread from cutting into the foam. A thread base or a compatible adhesive can be used when additional stability is useful; choose any adhesive for the materials being joined. Finish the fly to suit the selected hook and tying style.
