FFGene Brass Cone Heads

FFGene Brass Cone Heads are brass cone heads for streamers and Muddler-style patterns. Their tapered form shapes the front of the fly, while the brass adds ballast and helps the pattern fish deeper than an unweighted version.

Construction and use

Thread the cone head onto the hook before tying, slide it behind the eye, and secure it with the fly’s front materials. Brass provides less ballast than a comparable tungsten component, so select the head in relation to hook size, fishing depth, and the intended sink rate. Before tying, check that the cone opening passes over the hook eye and bend and that the seated head does not restrict the fly’s construction.
