FFGene Brass Hot Beads

FFGene Brass Hot Beads are brass beads with a bright coloured finish for nymphs and other flies that need moderate ballast together with a distinct accent at the hook eye. Brass provides a practical alternative to heavier tungsten heads.

Construction and use

This is a central-hole bead for conventional mounting. Before tying, check the hole against the hook eye and bend, and choose the size to suit the shank and intended fly profile. Pass the eye through the bead, seat it against the eye, and secure it with thread wraps and the fly materials. The coloured finish is visual, while the material and bead size determine the weighting.
