FFGene Cashmere Goat Dubbing
FFGene Cashmere Goat Dubbing is designed for building light, soft-bodied flies. The series is defined by its Cashmere Goat fibre character, giving the tier a delicate, naturally mobile surface without forcing the body into a dense, heavy layer. It suits small nymphs as well as larger patterns where the finished fly should retain a subtle, slightly hairy profile rather than a perfectly smooth finish.
Construction and use
The material can be adapted to several tying styles: applied thinly to the thread, left looser for a more animated surface, or worked in a dubbing loop when a stronger texture is required. After forming the body, lightly tease it with a dubbing needle or brush to separate the fibres and refine the fly’s outline.
- Material character: Cashmere Goat dubbing with a soft fibre feel.
- Suitable patterns: nymphs, wet flies and dry flies calling for a light, irregular body.
- Application: add small amounts to waxed thread and build the taper gradually.
- Finishing: a brief brushing separates the fibres and lets you control how lively the body appears.
