FFGene CDC Color Jambo Pack - 1 gr
FFGene CDC Color Jambo Pack - 1 gr is a pack of dyed CDC feathers for fly tying. It contains 1 g of material, approximately 120–150 feathers from the duck’s preen-gland area. Fine CDC fibres form a light, soft surface that traps air. The feathers are useful in dry flies as wings, collars, legs and other buoyant surface elements. Individual feathers can also be wound to form bodies on dry flies and selected nymphs. The application range includes large mayfly imitations on hooks from #6 to #22. The loose Jambo Pack format provides a generous supply of feathers in one colour for different patterns.
Construction and use
Before tying, remove loose down from the feather stem and match the fibre length to the fly size. Use a complete feather for a wing, or part of one for a collar or legs. For bodies, choose feathers with even, intact fibres. Natural variation in shape and density makes it possible to match each feather to the finished fly profile.
