FFGene CDC Colors Selected One by One
FFGene CDC Colors Selected One by One consists of large, individually selected CDC feathers for precise fly tying. The pack contains 0.5 g of material, approximately 50 feathers from the duck’s preen-gland area. Fine CDC fibres form a light surface that traps air. The feathers are especially useful for dry-fly wings, as well as collars, legs, tails and loops formed in split thread. Their large size helps build distinct wings and visible CDC elements on larger patterns. The dyed version is available in 24 colours.
Construction and use
Individual selection makes it easy to match feather shape, fibre length and density to a particular fly. Before tying, remove loose down from the stem and align the tips or use the feather as a complete unit. Choose feathers with an even outline for wings and softer, freer fibres for collars and legs. Natural variation can produce slight differences in shade and shape between individual dyed feathers.
