FFGene Electric Fluo Dubbing
FFGene Electric Fluo Dubbing is a synthetic material with an appearance similar to seal fur. Its defining feature is its bright colour range, making a selected part of the fly easy to pick out and helping the pattern remain visible on the water. It is suited to flies where colour and a clearly textured body are important, whether used across the whole body or as an accent at the thorax, head or tag.
Construction and use
The synthetic fibre structure can be shaped without forcing the finished body to become perfectly smooth. Apply it to the thread, twist it in a dubbing loop, or loosen the surface after forming to create a stronger profile. Before finishing the fly, separate the fibres and remove excess material; this keeps the vivid accent controlled and preserves the proportions of the pattern.
- Material: synthetic dubbing with a seal-fur-like appearance.
- Colour: intense shades for bodies, accents and highly visible fly details.
- Patterns: nymphs, wet flies and streamers that benefit from a distinct colour patch.
- Fibre control: a dubbing loop adds bulk and texture, while brushing refines the final outline.
