FFGene English Hackle Pliers Small

FFGene English Hackle Pliers Small are compact hackle pliers built in the classic English style. The resilient metal frame forms both the operating arms and the round finger ring used to guide the tool. Squeezing the arms opens the narrow metal jaws; releasing them closes the jaws around the tip of a feather stem. This spring action keeps the material clamped without requiring continuous finger pressure on the sides of the pliers.

The Small version has a compact working end that makes it easier to operate close to the hook and grasp a short section of stem. The head is fixed and has no rotary mechanism, so the complete tool is moved around the hook while the hackle is wound. The integrated ring provides a convenient finger hold and helps the tier control movement and feather tension. Clamping force is produced by the spring frame and is not adjustable.
