FFGene Fire Tip Silicone Legs
FFGene Fire Tip Silicone Legs are prepared silicone leg strands supplied on a tab, with contrasting Fire Tip treatment at the tips. Divide the strands for legs, feelers or tails, or tie grouped sections into the wings of streamers, poppers, saltwater flies and pike flies. Position the treated tip on the visible side when the contrasting end is part of the pattern design.
Construction and use
Separate the tab into individual strands and prepare equal-length sections. Tie a strand at its centre to create a pair of legs, or secure one end when it is used as a tail or wing element. Use broad, moderate thread wraps; isolated, overly tight turns can damage soft silicone. After the material is secured, trim the free ends with scissors and finish the head or wing shape.
- Form: prepared silicone strands on a tab, ready to divide and cut.
- Finish: the tips carry a contrasting Fire Tip treatment.
- Positioning: orient the treated tip before tightening the final securing wraps.
- Uses: nymph legs and feelers, plus streamer, popper, saltwater and pike-fly details.
