FFGene Glass Beads

FFGene Glass Beads are very lightweight plastic heads for nymphs and other flies where colour and volume are needed with little additional weight. They can form a coloured head or a contrasting hot spot while leaving the sink rate to the other components of the pattern.

Construction and use

Fit the bead on the hook before tying the body. Select the diameter for the proportions of the fly and check the opening against the eye and bend of the particular hook. Plastic adds considerably less weight than a similarly sized metal bead, making this series useful for light nymphs and patterns fished just below the surface. Once in position, secure the bead with thread and body materials so it cannot move during use.
