FFGene Goose Biots
FFGene Goose Biots are a classic fly-tying material in the form of goose biots. These narrow, compact feather sections create slim components with a clear fibre direction and subtle segmentation. Biots are especially useful for precise small details, including nymph tails, legs and horns, as well as the characteristic elements of a Prince fly.
Construction and use
A biot can be tied in as an individual detail or wound to create an orderly, segmented body on a dry fly or light nymph. The side placed against the hook affects the edge and direction of the segments. Even wraps and moderate thread tension help preserve the compact form of a fine biot. The pack contains four pieces.
- Material: goose biots.
- Use: bodies, nymph tails, legs, horns and Prince fly components.
- Effect: slim details and a subtly segmented body.
- Pack content: 4 pieces; choose the biot side according to the intended segment direction.
