FFGene Hare Dubbing

FFGene Hare Dubbing is made from 100% Chilean hare fur, with no added fibres. The soft fur is combined with a substantial amount of sharp guard hair, creating the characteristic uneven structure associated with hare dubbing. Because the fibres range from lighter to darker tones, a finished body has a naturally varied appearance instead of looking completely uniform. It is a versatile foundation for many established fly patterns.

Construction and use

The material is suitable for nymphs, wet flies and other designs that call for a natural, slightly untidy body. It is especially appropriate for patterns such as March Brown, Gold Ribbed Hare’s and Case Caddis. The guard hairs may be retained to shape the profile or restrained after application, depending on whether the fly needs a subtle surface or a more pronounced texture.
