FFGene Non Skid Hackle Plier
FFGene Non Skid Hackle Plier is a spring-style hackle plier with a fixed head and two differently finished gripping surfaces. One jaw carries a rubber pad for increased friction, while the opposing jaw is metal. This combination helps hold a feather stem securely without clamping it solely between two hard metal surfaces.
The resilient oval body serves as both the handle and the spring mechanism used to open the jaws. The plier can grip different sizes of hackle and is particularly useful with delicate feathers that may otherwise slip while being wound. The rubber surface reduces movement and lowers the risk of cutting or crushing the stem. The head does not rotate, so the tool is guided around the hook by hand as each turn of hackle is formed.
