FFGene Orange Panther Clipper
FFGene Orange Panther Clipper is a compact leader nipper for routine tasks when setting up or changing a fly-fishing rig. It provides a quick, controlled way to shorten leader and tippet, remove the tag end after tightening a knot, and trim stray fly-tying material. Its small format makes it easy to keep within reach while wading, fishing from the bank or working at a tackle station.
A needle at the rear is provided for clearing hook eyes blocked by varnish, adhesive or remnants of dressing material. This is particularly useful on small flies, where even a minor obstruction can make threading the tippet awkward. The suspension hole allows the nipper to be connected to a cord, retractor or suitable tool holder on a waistcoat or fishing bag.
After use, remove any pieces of line, dry the tool and store it away from persistent moisture. Guide the needle carefully through the hook eye rather than forcing it at an angle. The cutting edges are intended chiefly for leader, tippet and light trimming work around flies; using them for their proper purpose will help maintain effective cutting performance.
