FFGene Rabbit Dubbing
FFGene Rabbit Dubbing is a consistent rabbit-fur dubbing for neat, controllable fly bodies. Compared with hare dubbing, it gives a more even and orderly finish, making it useful when a pattern needs a clean silhouette rather than a heavily spiky surface. Its relatively long fibres settle well on the thread and help you form smoothly tapered bodies with a soft, natural texture. The material can also be blended with other dubbings, including synthetic fibres and attractor materials, so the same base can be adapted to different pattern styles.
Construction and use
This is a practical all-round choice for nymphs, wet flies and dry flies, as well as many general-purpose patterns. Start with small pinches on the thread and distribute them evenly before twisting; the longer fibres are easy to control when applied in thin layers. Once the body is formed, a light brushing can open the surface and add a little more life without losing its tidy shape. Use it unbrushed for a smoother body or tease out only the fibres needed around the pattern.

- Finish: Even, tidy bodies with adjustable surface texture.
- Patterns: Suitable for nymphs, wet flies, dry flies and many general fly designs.
- Blending: Mixes readily with other dubbings, synthetics and attractor fibres.
