FFGene Round Rubber Legs
FFGene Round Rubber Legs are elastic rubber strands with a round cross-section, prepared for tying fly legs. They can be used singly, in pairs or in small bundles on nymphs, streamers and other patterns that call for mobile accents. The round profile creates slim strands with free movement, while the available colour choices make it possible to select an accent that fits the pattern being tied.
Construction and use
Cut a section slightly longer than the intended leg so there is enough material for tying. Position the rubber on the hook shank and make a few light wraps, increasing pressure only after checking its placement. When tying legs on both sides of the body, compare their length and angle before finishing. Trim the ends once the material is secure; several strands may also be bundled for a tail or a streamer-wing accent.
- Form: prepared strands with a round cross-section.
- Material: rubber, kept distinct from silicone-leg tabs.
- Uses: legs, tails and mobile accents on nymphs and streamers.
- Tying: begin with light wraps, then set the final tension after checking position and symmetry.
