FFGene Scud Back 3 mm
FFGene Scud Back 3 mm is an elastic flat strip for wing cases, nymph backs and wrapped bodies. Its nominal 3 mm width suits smaller and medium-sized patterns when an even cover over the underbody is required. The strip can be pulled over the body as a continuous wing case or wound in touching turns to build a segmented body.
Construction and use
Tie the starting end at the rear of the body, leaving enough free material to stretch over the prepared underbody. Pull it toward the eye and secure it at the front. Tension narrows and thins the strip, so adjust it to the profile of the fly; excessive tension can alter the width of the cover. For a conventional wing case, add ribbing in the opposite direction. Finish by trimming the excess and securing the tie-in with thread.
