FFGene Scud Back 4 mm
FFGene Scud Back 4 mm is an elastic flat strip intended for broader wing cases, nymph backs and wrapped bodies. Its nominal 4 mm width covers a larger underbody or creates a more pronounced segmented profile. Use it as a single stretched wing case over the body, or wind it in touching turns when the pattern calls for a segmented construction.
Construction and use
Tie the strip at the rear of the shaped body and leave a working length free. Stretch it evenly toward the eye, watching how the tension changes its width and thickness, then secure it at the front. When forming a nymph back, ribbing can be wound in the opposite direction to create a clear division. Trim the excess only after several firm wraps have locked the material in place and the head has been finished.
