FFGene Spectra Mylar 8 mm
FFGene Spectra Mylar 8 mm is hollow, open-braided tubing made from a coloured braid with contrasting reflective strands. It is used as an outer body skin for flies and streamers, giving the finished body a defined braided texture and broken reflective points. The 8 mm nominal size is a starting point for matching the tubing to the prepared underbody diameter and the width of the intended profile.
Construction and use
Slide the braid over a smooth, previously shaped underbody, leaving enough material beyond both tie-in points. Stretching narrows and lengthens the tubing, while compression widens its braid, so the underbody determines the finished body shape. Tie it in at the beginning and end of the body, then secure the cut ends against fraying. Maintain even tension as you work to control the coloured base and contrasting strands along the full body length.
