FFGene Spinning Hackle pliers
FFGene Spinning Hackle pliers are compact, shaft-mounted hackle pliers intended for work on the smallest flies. Their distinguishing feature is an articulated, rotating head assembly. As the feather is wound, the jaws can follow the direction of travel without forcing the entire tool through a rigid arc around the hook. This makes it easier to manoeuvre close to the shank while retaining control of a delicate hackle stem.
The small head grips the feather tip for winding successive hackle turns on short-shank hooks in sizes 22–28. The pliers can also hold narrow materials being wrapped around the hook, including peacock quill, condor substitute fibres and the remaining end of a fine rib. The shaft keeps the hand away from the tying area, while the articulated connection helps adjust the working angle where space around a small pattern is limited.
