FFGene Tungsten Beads Jig Off
FFGene Tungsten Beads Jig Off are tungsten beads with an offset hole for nymphs tied on jig hooks. The offset opening changes how the bead seats on the hook and affects ballast distribution and the fly’s position in the water.
Construction and use
Tungsten supplies concentrated weight, while the Jig Off geometry allows the bead’s seating to be matched to a particular jig pattern. Before tying, pass the bead over the hook eye in the intended orientation and check how it rests on the shank. Match the hole and clearance to the eye and bend of the hook, especially with jig hooks. Once positioned, build a firm thread collar behind the bead to hold it in place.
- Material: tungsten concentrating ballast at the front of the fly.
- Geometry: the offset Jig Off hole changes seating and balance.
- Application: nymphs and jig patterns intended to work near the bottom.
- Mounting: check the opening against the eye and bend of the chosen hook.
