FFGene Tungsten Ring
FFGene Tungsten Ring is a tungsten ring fitted behind a fly’s main bead to add weight without using a larger bead. It helps retain a similar front profile, while the additional mass affects the sink rate of nymphs and jig patterns.
Construction and use
Select the ring for the bead, shank and position where it will be seated. In practice, place it directly behind the bead and secure it with thread wraps and fly materials so it cannot shift during tying. Check that the ring’s inner diameter works with the bead and hook being used; different bead and shank combinations may require different sizes. Tungsten supplies concentrated ballast while making only a small change to the overall geometry.
