Greys Kite Switch Fly Rod

Greys Kite Switch is a family of compact two-handed switch fly rods which can also be cast comfortably with one hand. The format supports Spey casting where space behind the angler is restricted, while retaining the option of an aerial overhead cast on more open stretches of water. It gives the angler scope to change casting method as bank layout, vegetation and available room alter along the river.

Greys classifies the Kite Switch action as medium-fast and pairs it with a high recovery rate. The series profile is intended for sustained-anchor Spey techniques as well as aerial casting. This gives the rods a consistent character when moving between casting styles, with a progressive sense of the blank loading under the fly line.

Construction and series character

Every rod in the family is built on a Greys Toreon carbon blank made from high-intermediate-modulus material. Greys combines this construction with a medium-fast action and rapid blank recovery. The result is the characteristic working profile of a modern switch rod: configured for two-handed Spey casting while remaining manageable for controlled single-handed and overhead casts.

The shared guide layout comprises single-foot snake guides and lined stripping guides. The reel is mounted in a full alloy seat with twin locking nuts, a nylon cushion ring and a keyed sliding band. An AAA-grade cork handle completes the common specification used throughout the Kite Switch family.

Model identification and alignment dots are applied to the blank sections. Each rod is supplied with a cloth rod bag and a rigid tube, providing a complete storage and transport set.
