Greys Platinum T3 Sink Fly Line

Greys Platinum X T3 Sink is a fully sinking WF fly line intended for presenting flies below the surface. The T3 designation identifies the sinking class of this version, but it should not be read as a specific sink-rate figure. The complete line sinks rather than only a short tip, making the profile suitable for methodically covering deeper layers of stillwater. The family covers WF 6, WF 7 and WF 8, allowing the line to be matched to a range of outfits used for subsurface fishing.

Profile and fishing use

The short head is designed to load the rod efficiently without requiring numerous false casts. This is useful when fishing from either bank or boat, particularly where there is limited room to carry a long length of line in the air. Its concentrated profile helps the angler prepare the cast promptly, while the low-diameter running line supports smooth line release and distance. The format therefore suits anglers who want to spend less time false casting and return the fly to the water with an economical casting sequence.

Because the line is fully sinking, it provides direct control over the path of the complete system during the retrieve. Once the line has descended, presentation depth can be adjusted through the length of the pause and the pace used to work the fly. Actual behaviour will also be influenced by the fly pattern, leader, current and water movement. This distinction matters: T3 is not a sinking tip attached to a floating body, but a complete sinking profile made for fishing beneath the surface.

• Type: fully sinking WF fly line in the T3 sinking class.
• Family range: WF 6, WF 7 and WF 8.
• Length: 90 ft; designed in the United Kingdom.
• Finish: dual-colour construction, slick supple coating and a welded loop.

The slick, supple coating promotes comfortable line handling through the cast and retrieve, while the low-diameter running line keeps bulk down as it travels through the rod rings. The dual-colour construction provides a clear visual reference when organising the profile and preparing to cast. A welded loop simplifies a suitable loop-to-loop connection. Greys Platinum X T3 Sink is aimed at anglers who need a complete sinking line, a short head and a layout developed for efficient loading and distance with fewer false casts, without assigning the line an unverified exact sinking rate.
