Greys Tail Fly Combo
Greys Tail Combo is a complete family of fly-fishing outfits built around the Tail rod. Each configuration brings together a situation-specific fly rod, a Greys Tail reel and factory-fitted line components. Greys presents the series as a coherent, well-balanced outfit for anglers who want the main elements selected to work together as a complete package.
The reel features a large-arbour spool and disc drag. It is supplied with a floating fly line and backing already fitted, with the line selected for the particular configuration. A case accommodating the rod and reel completes the outfit, providing a practical means of keeping the equipment together in a car or carrying it as part of the angler’s luggage.
Construction and series character
Medium-fast action is shared by the rods throughout this family. It provides a consistent design basis across the Tail Combo series, while individual configurations remain directed towards different fly-fishing situations. The range can therefore be approached according to the intended use while retaining a common Tail series character.
Every outfit includes a large-arbour reel with a disc-drag system. Greys pairs it with a floating fly line and backing, creating a factory-prepared combination of rod, reel and line. The components are matched for the relevant configuration, presenting the angler with an integrated outfit assembled as a single system.
The supplied case accommodates both rod and reel. Greys describes it as convenient for storing the outfit in a car or carrying it in luggage when travelling further afield. Tail Combo is consequently organised as a family of complete outfits with a shared rod action, disc-drag reel and pre-fitted floating line at the heart of its equipment concept.
