Greys Tital Fly Reel
Greys Tital is a family of fly reels designed for use in both fresh water and salt water. Every complete reel shares the same core arrangement: machined aluminium construction, a large-arbour spool, a full-cage frame and a sealed disc drag. This combination suits a range of fly-fishing methods, including applications that employ fine line, running line or a long nymphing leader.
The body and spool are machined from aluminium bar stock and finished by machine. Working from solid material provides accurately fitted components and gives the structure increased resistance to knocks during transport and use beside the water. The design remains practical, with an open spool profile that makes the line lay easy to inspect and conventional controls arranged around a removable spool.
Construction and series character
The full-cage frame encloses the edge of the spool, helping to prevent fine material from slipping between the spool and reel body. This is useful when fishing a thin running line or the long, fine leader associated with nymphing techniques. The broad core of the large-arbour spool retrieves more line with each turn of the handle and helps reduce tight coiling after storage. A simple, secure release allows the aluminium spool to be removed for changing or for easier cleaning inside the frame.
Drag pressure is controlled by a sealed carbon-disc system. Its adjustment knob provides progressive control over resistance, while the sealed housing protects the working mechanism from water, dirt and fine debris. The drag construction is intended for freshwater and saltwater environments. The reel can also be converted for either left- or right-hand wind, allowing the retrieve direction to be matched to the angler’s established preference.
- Construction: machine-finished body and spool made from aluminium bar stock.
- Drag: sealed disc system with carbon friction surfaces.
- Frame and spool: full-cage frame, large arbour and secure spool release.
