Griffin Tying Tools Bobbins Ceramic Supreme

Griffin Tying Tools Bobbins Ceramic Supreme is a complete, general-purpose fly-tying bobbin holder in Griffin’s Supreme format. It combines a stainless-steel thread tube with a ceramic insert and nylon spool supports. The steel tube provides a rigid, durable thread path, while the ceramic contact surface helps reduce friction, fraying and the risk of avoidable break-offs as thread is fed to the fly. The nylon supports allow the spool to turn under controlled pressure without rubbing directly against the metal frame.

This is a conventional open-frame bobbin: working tension comes from the spring arms pressing the nylon supports against the spool ends. It has no separate dial, slider or disc-drag mechanism. Once the spool is seated correctly, this simple arrangement provides direct thread control through hand position and pulling force. Supreme is the general-purpose model in Griffin’s ceramic range, rather than the extended-reach Bass/Saltwater version or the reinforced Magnum configuration.

Fit the spool centrally between the nylon supports and check that it rotates without excessive side play. If the feed is too loose or too firm, make only small, symmetrical corrections to the spring arms and test again; do not force a spool that does not seat properly. Use the included threader to draw thread through the tube. Keep the ceramic insert clean and inspect it before tying. The set includes one threader and one Threader Saver Cap.
