H2O Flat N Fine
H2O Flat N Fine consists of fine, flat synthetic fibres for building slim, mobile fly profiles. The material gives precise control over the volume of a streamer wing, tail or lateral layer, and it can be layered, tapered and trimmed after tying to shape the profile. The supple fibres move in the water and avoid forming a rigid, solid mass when they are used in small, well-secured bundles.
Construction and use
Separate the required amount before tying and even the tips if a clean outline is needed. Secure the fibres with several firm wraps, positioning them from the tie-in point toward the rear or in the opposite direction according to the profile being built. Length and density are easy to adjust with scissors, making the material suitable for slender baitfish imitations as well as fuller streamer shapes.
- Wings and backs Build height and taper gradually by placing thin layers along the hook shank.
- Tails and sides Small bundles create light tails and lateral accents without unnecessarily restricting the fly’s movement.
- Shaping Taper and trim the fibres after securing them to form a baitfish or crustacean profile.
- Finishing The material accepts marker pens for irregular bars and spots, and it can also be secured with epoxy or Softex.
