H2O Micro Fibre
H2O Micro Fibre consists of fine, lightly crimped synthetic fibres for streamer wings and tails. It can form a complete profile on its own or serve as a soft layer within a fuller wing. The material has a restrained sheen that adds definition without making the pattern unnecessarily stiff or bulky.
Construction and use
Cut small portions and secure them firmly on the hook shank. Even the tips before tying, then layer additional bundles when a fuller shape is required. A slim fly needs only a modest bundle; excessive material can restrict the fibres’ movement in the water. Once tied in, the profile can be tapered or trimmed to match the intended baitfish shape.
- Streamer wings Build lightweight synthetic wings with controlled volume.
- Tails Fine strands work for tails on both freshwater and saltwater flies.
- Layering Add separate bundles to widen a back or build a graduated wing.
- At the vise Separate the fibres before tying and lock them down with several tight thread wraps.
