Hardy Ultralite NSX DH Fly Rod
Hardy Ultralite NSX DH is a family of double-handed fly rods within the Ultralite Specialty series, categorised by Hardy among its Spey rods. Its broad remit covers contemporary two-handed applications associated with salmon and steelhead fishing, together with lighter trout work and selected saltwater techniques.
The long-rod, double-handed format supports distance casting with flies that present substantial air resistance and helps the angler retain control once the cast reaches its target. Hardy places particular emphasis on feel through the blank, balance in the hand and the reserve of power available while playing fish. Ultralite NSX DH therefore forms a coherent family for varied styles of two-handed fishing, spanning delicate presentations and more powerful tackle systems.
Construction and series character
Every Ultralite NSX DH rod is based on Sintrix NSX construction. The action profiles were developed around the intended application of each model while retaining a medium-fast character across the family. This gives the range a consistent overall identity while allowing an angler to select a version appropriate to the technique in question.
The blanks are fitted with flexible titanium Recoil guides featuring ceramic linings. A custom reel seat made from aluminium and carbon is also shared throughout the family. These materials and components complement the technical character of the Ultralite NSX series without obscuring the central focus on two-handed casting, line control and fish-playing power.
Each rod is supplied in a hard travel tube for protection in transit. The complete specification brings together Sintrix NSX construction, a medium-fast action and fittings selected for double-handed fly fishing.
