Hareline 1 1/2 in. Pseudo Hackle
Hareline 1 1/2 in. Pseudo Hackle is a prepared fibre strip with 1.5-inch fibres, intended for building bodies, collars and synthetic hackle. Its narrow, ready-to-use format can be tied in and wound around the hook shank, so the material works as a continuous strip rather than as separate loose fibres.
Construction and use
Remove the temporary cross fibres formed during manufacture before tying. The remaining fibres make up the windable strip. Secure its end at the hook shank, then wind it in successive turns while sweeping the fibres back before each turn. Adjust the spacing and number of turns to the profile required for a body, collar or synthetic hackle on a fly or streamer. The prepared format also makes it possible to keep the fibres aligned while forming the desired outline.
