Hareline 1/2 in. Sparkle Pseudo Hackle
Hareline 1/2 in. Sparkle Pseudo Hackle is a prepared fibre strip for winding bodies, collars or synthetic hackle on flies and streamers. Its fibres are 1/2 inch long and have a waved, reflective texture, giving the material a defined moving profile when wound on the hook shank.
Construction and use
Cut the required length from the strip and remove the temporary cross fibres formed during manufacturing before tying it in. Once these fibres are removed, the heat-treated trilobal fibres are ready to be secured and wound. Sweep the fibres back with each turn so they remain evenly distributed rather than being trapped under the next wrap. The strip can form a complete body, an individual segment, a streamer collar or synthetic hackle behind the head of a fly. Adjust the number of turns to control coverage and profile.
- Form: prepared, narrow fibre strip designed for winding.
- Fibre length: 1/2 inch, providing a distinct profile on a range of fly sizes.
- Finish: waved surface and reflective sheen from the trilobal fibres.
- Preparation: remove the manufacturing cross fibres before tying in.
- Uses: fly bodies, segments, collars and synthetic hackle for flies and streamers.
