Hareline Arctic Fox Tail Hair
Hareline Arctic Fox Tail Hair consists of long, soft hair from an arctic fox tail, supplied as tail hair for fly tying. It is used for slim wings and tails on streamers and salmon flies when the tier wants fibres with free movement.
Construction and use
Select an even bundle, remove excess underfur and short fibres, then align the tips in a hair stacker. The material can be tied directly to the shank as a layered wing or combined with flash fibres. Firm thread wraps at the base hold the bundle while leaving the hair free to move.
- Material: soft, long arctic fox tail hair.
- Form: tail hair cut from the supplied material as required.
- Preparation: remove underfur and align the tips before tying.
- Uses: streamer wings, tails and salmon-fly patterns.
