Hareline Cul De Canard
Hareline Cul De Canard consists of selected CDC feathers for light, mobile fly components. The material suits patterns designed to work in the surface film, while different feather sections allow the tier to match fibre length to the hook size and fly profile.
Construction and use
Cul de canard feathers come from the preen-gland area of a duck. Their delicate fibres trap air, making them suitable for dry-fly and emerger wings, collars, legs, and loops formed in split thread. The selected grade makes it easier to find feathers with a useful section suited to the pattern. The feathers can be matched to small and larger flies while retaining a light, lively character in the finished dressing.
