Hareline D Rib

Hareline D Rib is a solid, elastic vinyl rib with a D-shaped, half-round cross-section. Its flat side rests against the underbody, while the rounded outer face creates visible segmentation on nymph and streamer bodies. It can be used as spaced ribbing over a wrapped body or wound in touching turns to form a continuous segmented body.

Construction and use

Tie in Hareline D Rib at the rear of the hook with the flat face against the underbody. Establish the desired body taper, then wind the material forward under even tension. Spaced turns produce distinct ribbing; touching turns build a fuller body with consecutive segments. Secure the front end and check that the thread pressure has not flattened the rounded profile. The elastic material follows a shaped underbody while keeping the raised outer surface visible.
