Hareline Dyed Pearl Diamond Braid
Hareline Dyed Pearl Diamond Braid is a continuous braided material for building fly bodies, thoraxes and segmented sections. Its pearl, iridescent finish adds a reflective highlight to the surface, making it useful for delicate chironomid-style patterns as well as larger flies and streamers where changing light on the body is part of the design.
Construction and use
Tie the braid in at the hook shank and wrap it forward in adjacent turns, keeping steady tension as the body is formed. The spacing of the turns can produce a smooth surface or make the segmentation more pronounced. Once the desired body length is reached, secure the braid with several thread wraps and trim the waste. Select the braid with the fly size and available shank space in mind; it can also be used for bodies on bonefish flies.
- Form: continuous braid designed to be wrapped around the hook shank.
- Finish: pearl, iridescent surface with changing reflective highlights.
- Uses: bodies, thoraxes and segmented chironomid-style fly patterns.
- Applications: bonefish flies, streamers and patterns calling for a reflective body accent.
